Nails: Cartoony

Hi guys, so I realize that the whole cartoon-nails thing, or the outlined nail trend is soooo last season! However, first of all it took me a long time to finally decide to try these nails out, and when I finally did I fell in love. I think they are so cute and cartoony, and for some reason they make me think of Katy Perry. (Did she wear these nails in a video or something??)
Anywho, secondly I've had a picture of this manicure hanging out on in a folder rather thank having put it up on the blog, duuuuh, I know - I'm sorry. Anyways, here they are. I paired these cartoony nails with big round sunnies, probably not very relevant for the winter time, but it's all good!

Nails: Flowery spring nails

Hey guys and happy spring! I'm happy to say that the Danish weather has decided finally to turn into a nice stable spring. To celebrate, I made these nails. They're based off a picture I found on google, googleing "flowery spring nails", however as I tried to find the source for you today I wasn't able to.

I think they're super cute and surprisingly easy to make. I doubted that people would be able to see that it was flowers and not just gloops on the little and pointy finger, but alot of people have commented on the cute flowers so I'm thrilled! Happy happy spring time!

Nails: Nailside's tribal

Hey guys. As a blogger I too love browsing people's blogs, recreating looks and getting inspired. Some time ago I stumbled upon a tribal nail look on Nailside's blog. If you wish to see her blog post here is the link: Nailside's tribal nails.

The green I used as a base colour is more olive coloured, also I decided to paint the ring-fingers with a silvery/metallic instead of gold all over. I love this look, it's so easy and cool looking!

Christmas 2013: Reindeer nails and Christmas novels

Hello guys, today I have another nail-look for you.
I meant to make the reindeer's more festive by giving the middle one a red nose, but I forgot ;)

I also want to talk a little about Christmas novels! Last year I didn't read a special novel at Christmas time, even though I intended to. This year however, I am reading a special Christmas novel! It's called Calling Mrs. Christmas by Carole Matthews. I will do a review when I finish reading it, but I can already say that I really enjoy it so far!

Have a good one, see you later for some more Christmas posts :)

Nails: Vintage Roses

Hello to the ey'o! What's up you wonderful person!?
I'm super excited about this nail look, I've always thought that it was really pretty but never dared trying to re-create it. But, I decided I'd go out on a limb and give it a try. The result I can only say pleased me very much, and I', certain that it'll turn out even better the next time I make it.

Have an awesome morning, day, evening - whatever it is where you are ;)

Nails: Pokémon

Hey to the ho! So a while ago I stumbled over this: http://one-and-only-lauren-elizabeth.tumblr.com/post/29807368070 and thought to myself "oh my goodness!". I simply had to recreate it, or at least try to. So this is how it turned out:

It was harder than I thought, but I think I did OK. I do realize that my Squirtle is too dark but I didn't have a lighter polish. I think these nails are so ingenious! Everybody knows Pokémon from their childhood and all of my friends were commenting on my nails. So I can only encourage you to crack on and have get some childhood memories on your nails!

My new year nails 2012

Hi guys! I am deeply sorry for the lack of fun Christmas posts this year, I had so so so many planned but I was writing a big assignment for school which counts as an exam, therefor I have been swamped this past December. I do actually have some Christmas nail designs which I didn't post in 2012, so I'll save them for December 2013.
But, lets talk about new years even though that was two days ago now ;)
I am home on Christmas break and I've only got 3 nail-polishes home with me, they are my Christmas presents for myself. I then watched Winterrose84's (YouTube) nail tutorial:

 - and thought, hey! What a great, easy design to do when I want to use all my colours and make something fun but still very easy.
So this is what I ended up with, you can also see the polishes in question. (I got the Essie polishes 60% off!! Great price in DK considering the cost double of which the cost in the US)

You can also see some of my mum's Christmas decoration and my very personal Christmas ornament to put on the tree, my holly Empire State Building thing :D

Very very happy new year to everyone!

Christmas 2012: Accented nails for the holiday

Ho ho ho and merry 1st of December! Did you know that in Denmark we say the date and then the month? So today would be the 1/12 - 12 - COOL BEANS! But hey, I bet you knew that 'cause you're so smart!
Well, as a merry 1st of December present I give to you a nail design that I have been loving through fall and will carry on wearing this Christmas. (In between all my fun other nail-looks). This is very easy, and really you can wear however you want it in whatever you colours you like. ;)

(Sorry about the top right picture, had to snap it with my phone)
Basically, what you do is grab a sheer pearlescent (is that spelled right) nailpolish and paint all the nails except the ring-finger with it for however many coats you like, I like it to be almost opaque and then paint the ring-finger with a delicious glitter. My personal favorites are the two bottom ones, very Christmassy!

Merry happy!

Beauti-fall: Easy striped nails

Hey yo to the ey-o! I'm here with another nail-design for the fabulous season of fall! (even thought it's almost practically over)

So this nail design is really good for any nail length  Also it's really versatile, use your favorite colours of fall to mix something good together! Besides, I got a lot of compliments on this easy nail design, maybe you'll get lucky too ;)
This hereby terminates my beauti-fall series for this year, it might or might not come back next year, we'll see.

Beauti-fall: Bondage nails (!?)

Hello you beasts! I was in the mood to try something new and fun, so I decided to do the so called "braided nails" which is supposed to come out like this:

                                             ¨

But of course, since it's me - I failed. So in all of my despair I decided to make some extra lines and add some more colours. This is how it turned out:

So, not exactly braided nails like they were supposed to look, but still something along those lines. To me it kind of looks like bondage, not in a dirty way though ;) I still think that with the colours I used this is a very nice fall nail-look.
Have a great day!

Nails: Tree of Love

Hey-O folks! As you might or might not know I usually re-create other's nail designs either from a picture of a video. Well this time it was from a video, I was inspired bu Meliney's (YouTube) Tree of Love tutorial.
I got a little more colour in theere by making the tree green and the background a glitter-colour.
Hope you like this, I sure thought it was very cute.

Have a great day - Elk.

Nails: Back to school nails 2012

Hey guys, you excited for school? I sure am, and I'm so lucky I already started school last Monday. So here are my school nails for 2012, a little simple maybe but it's really not easy to think of a design for school nails no one has done before.

So here's my best best bid. The idea is that your nails are the blackboard and then someone drew a doodle, someone's doing maths, and apple for the teacher and on my left ring finger I figured that someone had art-class ;)

Anyways, I moved in last Sunday, and I'll make a room-tour post when my room is broken in properly, if you've ever moved you know that the way you decorate right when you arrive often changes into something more natural to you. But what I can show you is my new view, the other years my view was starring right into a yellow brick wall, OK for me but a bit sad.

I fell pretty lucky when you take into account that people pay a great deal of extra money for a view to a lake, the sea etc. Imagine how beautiful this will be year around, green in the summertime (now), orange and golden i autumn, pearly white in winter and blossoming in spring.

What are you doing this year, school, work or something else?

Nails: Nail-polishes I love for the summer!

Hey you sexy beast!
Lately I've preferred to keep my nail one colour all over my nail, and these are my favorites.

My top favorite ones have been these lovely coral polishes from ELF, I've had all nails except for the ringfinger one of the colours and then the second polish as an accent. I also added in my all-time favorite pink.
(Left to right) Fire Coral and Mango Madness from ELF, Dutch Tulips from OPI.
When I haven't been wearing these adorable reds I've turned to fresh bright colours like these, or toned down completely with a nice sandy/nude colour that reminds me of the sand on a beach.

(Left to right) No name from La Femme, No name from Divina, Sun from Oriflame and DJ Diva from Oriflame.
Whenever I wear that lush apple green I never fail to get compliments on my nails. It's simply a colour that makes everyone cheerie. Also this yellow colour is my idea of the perfect yellow. It has tiny white glitter in it which just gives it a wonderful shine.

What are your favorite summer polishes?

Nails: Bloooooood!

Hi guys. I'm currently reading a blog whose written by a super cool Swedish goth mom! She really inspires me alot and I love reading her blog. Even though I'm not goth myself, I think the style is fantastic and so so beautiful! She inspired me to do these blood dripping nails! (even thought they're not really dripping..)

These nails are super easy to make, just paint your nail any colour you want. (I do recommend a light colour to contrast the red and make it more visible). Take a red polish and kind of just splatter in on/paint it on real messy like blood! These nails are perfect for any alternative style, crazy costumes or Halloween.

But hey! Are you interested in knowing who I was talking about in the begging of the post? Yes I know you are! So here's a link to her blog: http://adorabatbrat.blogspot.com/
Please check her out, she's really cool! She also has a youtube channel.

Nails: My current nail obsession

Hia guys! I work as a cashier so I get to see people's nails alot. About a year ago I saw this girl who had a french manicure in lilac glitter, I thought it was sooo tacky but also I thought it was really interesting. Just a little while ago I was at work again I saw a woman who had her nails in a teal glittery french manicure. But since I don't have a lilac glitter polish or a teal glitter polish so I just used what I had.

I couldn't decide whether I wanted to make it with gold or red, so I did both. The gold isn't that obvious, the red has more contrast but I really like both.

Here are some pictures I found on google.

I really like these pictures and I'm so inspired. Besides this being super pretty it's really easy too. Normally I do my french manicure in free hand, but this time I decided to use tape, just regular scoth tape. You can also use those stickers if you don't like using scoth tape. But I do reccomend trying to practice as much as you can because I really find that free hand works best :)

Nails: Naiiiiiiilz!

Made the orange/purple this morning and the blue one I made a couple of days ago. The blue one is really gorgeous with long nails (and when I made it I had long nails) but my nails cracked MASSIVE so I had to cut them. R.I.P. nails :(
