Makeup: Swinging Sixties!
Hi guys! It's Saturday night tonight, and I'm feelin' it! I wanted to do some nice makeup, but I couldn't decide on anything "normal", so I thought SHUCK IT and decided to try something fun. Here's the result, the swinging sixties dollybird look.
I even managed to put on false eyelashes, which I normally can't do, not even if my life depended on it! Hope you all have a great Saturday night!

Makeup: Luxury
Hi guys, I haven't done this in a while, probably because makeup in general have taken a back-seat in my life lately. I simply haven't really bothered all that much. So the other day, I decided to sit down and play around, slapping lots of makeup on my face. The result, is this:
These last two pictures are only cropped, otherwise not edited, so here you can see the makeup itself a little closer.

I love playing around with makeup, dressing up and doing little photo-shoots with my most handy available model - that'll be myself. I took some other photos at this "shoot", so keep tuned for Luxury .2!

Makeup: The many faces
Hi guys. Yesterday I had a conversation with a guy, and we talked about girls and their makeup.
He said something which I feel like us ladies hear alot from guys, but still resist to believe in. He said that girls don't need to wear makeup, that it's silly and the whole concept is just due to unobtainable ideals set from the world of celebrities.
All I could say was: "a huh, yes.. Why are you telling me all these things I already know?".
To this he replied: "so why do you do it?". - Ah yes, we could spent hours, days, weeks, months, years discussing why women feel the need to wear makeup, or on the other hand why the choose not to.
However, that is not what this post is about. This post is about the next bit I uttered in that conversation.
I understand far too well that wearing too much makeup can be too much and very unattractive, but I see nothing wrong or twisted about a little mascara, some blush and lipbalm to help nature along. My conversational partner on the other hand thought that it was just as bad as going all out - it's a principle I guess.
So we cut a deal. To prove my point, I was to take a picture of myself first thing in the morning. Fresh out of bed, hair all over the place, oily skin and absolutely no makeup. Then I'd proceed to go through some of the different faces of makeup, and this is the result.
Excuse the giant picture, but it's a big comparison. I realized that the lighting in picture one is slightly different than the others, but I can't control the morning sun ;)
I think I'll leave this picture for effect and say no more. Which do you prefer?

Makeup: Dark Horse
Hello-oh! I don't know about you guys, but I purchased Katy Perry's recent album Prism, and I really liked it. Therefore, when I saw that a music video was released for Dark Horse, I got majorly excited! I loved all the costumes and makeup and extravaganza in that video! And needless to say I felt like making some Dark Horse inspired makeup!
I like the latter much better! I think the first one just looks kind of weird because I don't have a blue/turqoise that pops as much as Katy's. But I thought the second look was really fun!
Also.. If it's not visible, I can tell you right now that I got my hair cut, PIXIE! I know, kind of crazy. My hair wasn't really long anymore, it was a shorter, bob kind of style, but I decided I wanted to take the leap and go pixie. I have been now for... I don't know, a long time ;)
Next time I get a trim (it needs it) I'll try to take some pictures and show you guys.
Other news, I'm on Goodreads! So go ahead and follow me if you want to :) Elk's Goodreads

Makeup: Serene purpleness
Hello guys. Today when I emptied my camera pictures of this look popped up. So funny because I don't even remember making this look :D
But, as far as I can see, this was an attempt to combine the two colours that I don't think work for me and my eyes. Purple and grey. I'm not sure what to say about the look other than I think it looks nice, but it's still very simple, too simple for my taste. Ergo, I must continue in my quest to make grey and purple work for me!

Makeup: Colourful metallic
Hey guys. I still haven't found my beloved Canon camera :( so I have been forced to go back to my old camera. I believed that I had extracted all the old pictures from it's memory card when I went over to my Canon buy apparently not. At least I found some pictures and thought this was worth posting. I'm not so sure what the idea of theme was here, but I think it looks nice and colour is always good for spring and summer.
I pray to God that I'll find my Canon camera soon, I'm so upset and sad about it being missing! Also I did a really cool look yesterday, makeup hair and everything, took pictures and assumed that they were OK but when I open them up on the computer I saw that they were all out of focus. Really sad because it was a cool look.

Yepee! (And some man-makeup.)
Hello guys! After.. How long? 1½ years I've finally given up hoping to find my beloved camera.
My blog activity went south when I lost my camera, and even though I tried to blog I failed miserably.
Well, I'll let you know that I have just purchased a new camera online, merely a little handy one. I no longer think that I deserve or trust myself with a big nice one. (Yes I am punishing myself.)
Anyway, I figured that a little handy one would be sufficient for blog use. It's an "all-around" type camera.
With that I hope that I'll get back in the blogging game because I do miss it. Also, my calender reminded me that the 1st of December is the first day of "blogmas", and I found myself smiling and thinking "yes, I'll do it!".
150 USD poorer, here I am, back on the blog. Whew. Why this sudden need? Well I'll tell you. For some reason I decided to try and turn myself into a man, with the help of makeup and I thought to myself. What is the fun in that if you can't snap a picture of it and upload onto the internet? ;)
See you soon!

Makeup: Vampy Blue
Sometimes I bet like you feel that I lie to you. My London haul still isn't up and I didn't even post something special for Valentine's. I'm so sorry! Truth be told is that I've really been down in the dumps previous week and the week after was winter break. Because I live at a boarding school during vacations I have to go home. This is the reason I haven't done any blogging (I am away from my stationary computer with all the blogging pictures) no London haul and no Valentine's even though I DID actually make a Valentine's nail design for you. I'll be back at school monday evening and in the following week I do promise that the London haul will be up. Also I will post my Valentine's look even though it's outdated, but one can always use a glittery heartsy goodness looking nail design. :)
To bring something on the table instead of excuse after excuse, here's a dramatic look for you. I do make posts and then draft them so I have something to post whenever and I felt like you needed something today :D
Also, I'm very excited to tell you that I started with the OCM (oil cleansing method) this is very exciting for me and I will take pictures and keep you updated with that. Alrighty now, I have succeeded in making alot of promises and now I shall honor them before I make too many and fail you again.

Mood-board Inspiration: Edgy Pink
Hello you fellow beauty lovers!
Like any designer and any fashion-house, I too have a "mood-board". Well, it's a mood-wall to be specific, but that doesn't matter. On my mood-board I hang pictures of makeup, nail polishes, perfumes, clothes, accessories makeup looks etc that I've cut out of fashion magazines and such. This is the first post of my new series, "Mood-board Inspiration:" where I'll take a certain point on the board and create some sort of makeup look, nail look or something else.
This look really originates from my fall-mood board, but I prefer this edgy look for new years.
In my newest magazine, they had a "pink for fall" theme which I to be honest, highly disagreed on - until.. I saw this wonderful edgy look that combines a darker look and tone on the makeup while letting it stand out with the use of pink. But I still prefer this for new years.
My re-creation wasn't as dramatic with the very graphic line on the original picture. I suppose that I turned it into something more wearable.
Also, I allowed myself to combine it with a very bright pink which is (to me at least a very summery colour, but for a sparkling new years eve party, it's perfect :)
What will you be wearing for new years eve?

Beauti-fall: Intense going out look!
Hey guys. Yesterday I was bored, so I decided to play around with some loose pigments my friend gave me and I hadn't had a chance to use yet. This is what happened:
This look is very intense, both on the eyes and cheeks. Put on your favorite party dress and be prepared for a night out! This look is definitely what I'll be wearing next time I go out.. Or just want to freak someone out ;)
- Elk
Not edited (other than cropped). The yellow lighting from my lamp washed out the intensity of the eyeshadow, but it softened up the skin, made it glowy and made the blush stand out.
Edited, just because I couldn't help myself ;)

Beauti-fall: Warm taupe
Hi guys! Are you ready for a beauti-fall makeup look? This is my idea of a nice and beautiful everyday cool fall, but still warm, look.
1. Prime your lids with a primer and/or apply a cream eyeshadow any neutral colour so the eyeshadows has something to stick to.
2. Apply a taupe/grey colour all over your lid except for the inner corner.
3. Apply a beige/skin colour shadown in the inner corner.
4. Bring a cranberry/dark red in your crease. If you're going out or just want more smokeyness, you can add a darker brown to the crease.
5. Sweet some of the taupe and beige beneath your lower lashline to tie the look together.
6. Mascara!
(7. Fill in your eyebrows and add highligter to your browbone and inner corner if you like.)
For the cheeks I used some toned down pink, nothing big or fancy. And for the lips I used a dusty rosa colour and added some gloss for the goodness of it.
I hope you like this look, I know I'll definitely be wearing this alot for the fall and winter.
P.S. do you like it better when I explain what I did instead of just showing a picture of my makeup?

Makeup: Green leopard
Hi guys. I was browsing around the interwebs a while ago to look for make-up trends for spring. I already made a MOTD spring trend post, but this is a little different.
It's turned up a notch with the leopard print on the corner of the eye and the bright pink shadow on the lover lash line, and of course - bright pink lips to tie it all together.
This look is done off of a picture I found on google. I unfortunately can't seem to find the source again, but credits to the designer who isn't me, I just remade 'cus I thought it was preeeeety ;)

Makeup: Piinksparkles everyday smokey eye
Heya to heyo people! Do you know Piinksparkles on YouTube? I have written about her in a previous post, she is definitely one of my favorite beauty gurus on YouTube, she's super fun, nice, beautiful and inspiring! Today I followed her everyday smokey tutorial.
There's the video if you're interested, I definitely recommend checking her out.
(It kind of looks like I have no pupils because of the lighting :D)
I really love this eye look because usually I look like a dork when I wear smokey eyes but I actually like this on me!
Ciao sweethearts, have an awesome day!

Makeup: Spring trend 2012
Hi guys. Yesterday I googled "spring makeup trends 2012" and I found pictures like this:
Picture from:

Picture from:

Picture from:
These looks are, basically, just one bright colour swept over the entire lid and brought up a little over the crease and blended out. Then a nice black eyeliner is added to the upper lid, you can make it thin or thick, whatever you like, but I prefer a little bit thick.
![]() |
Picture from:
I'm sure that was totally rad in the 80's, but not really my style. Luckily, it didn't and I really liked the look. I'll definitely play more with this in the spring and upcoming summer using bold and bright colours.
What do like for spring and summer? Isn't this a little bold for such a light season?

Makeup: Mocha choc (Collection 2000 trio)
Hi guys, how r you? I just received my order of 25 pairs of earrings fish hooks so I can make some cute earrings. More about that when they're all nice and done, I'll show you then :)
Today I just want to show you my make-up today. Last Friday I went shopping with my friend and they had an awesome Collection 2000 sale. I bought a little different stuff, I generally like their products. Today I used one of the palettes, the Mocha Choc one.

The pink in the middle didn't turn out as pink on the picture as in real life.
Eyes and lips. As you can see the pink doesn't really kick in and turns out to look more like a silvery shadow. I also found it chalky .
So, what are you up to on the wonderful.. Cloudy relatively cold day?

Makeup: Easy purple
Hi guys, todays is very exciting because I got my glasses back from the optician, yaaay now I can see!
Unfortunately I didn't snap a picture with them on but it'll come. Today I went for an easy light purple look, I really like how it turned out.
It's raining outside.. Alot.. Not adding very much to the begging spring-feeling I had.
Rainy hugs, Elk.

Makeup: Peacocky, grey and Effie Trinket inspired masquerade
Hi guys, so a little while ago me and my friends went to the masquerade and I did my plus two of my friend's make up. The grey mask is what I made on my friend, but I don't want to post pictures of her on my blog without asking.
- LESS TALK, MORE MAKE UP!
Hope you liked it and were inspired. I think everybody who loves make up should go out on a limb a little and try something crazier than just everyday and party make up, it's fun an challenging. I think that maybe in the future I wall do more masquerade make up looks just because I noticed that the amount of tutorials and pictures is a bit limited. (You know, in MY opinion d: )

- LESS TALK, MORE MAKE UP!
This is my friend's make-up, she wore a cute black dress and went for a classic mask. This was done off a picture she found on google but unfortunately I don't have the source.
Originally this was also with rhinestones but I didn't have any face glue and my friend didn't want to use nail polish as glue ;)
So this is me, with the wig and the hat. Looks kind of awkward to be honest ;)

Makeup: Bronze with some blue using H&M eyeshadow palette
Hi guys, just wanted to show you my make-up today. I used my eyeshadow palette from H&M, the quality is really really nice and I really like this palette. I love the blue, but kind of have a hard time figuring out exactly where to place it so I like to experiment a little.
