Ho ho ho! The jolly jolly Christmas time is still going strong, and frankly I can hardly wait until Friday, where I'm going home to spend Christmas with my family.
Sometimes I get this deep surge of just really wanting to play around with some makeup, I often when I have it like that, those are the time that I do the best makeup. I had a feeling like that this night, so full of inspiration from the lovely internet I decided to try! Now, when I do some "midnight makeup" like this, I never do a full face and I hardly ever do both eyes. Therefore, this picture - hello hello there acne and only one eye, but that's the way it is ;)
I've snapped these photos with my new hot pink Fujifilm Finepix JX700 camera, and we're still getting to know eachother. I general, shooting in false lighting is always a bit annoying, so the picture on the right and at the bottom is with the bathroom light, and the picture on the top to the left is with the flash on. It saddens me that this looks more like a gold and purple look, rather than red and purple (which I was going for), but I guess it's because my red and pink shadows are very rich in gold!
I must dash! It's 1pm and I have finally read on in Calling Mrs. Christmas, and I love it so I must read on before I have to sleep. (Which of course was several hours ago.) Merry Christmas!

Christmas: H.C. Andersen Christmas Fair
Hi guys, this weekend was there was the H.C. Andersen Christmas Fair here i town Odense. I went and took some pictures for you guys. I do dearly love Christmas fairs and markets, but it isn't as fun when you are going alone.
How are you guys' Christmas' coming along? I had planned on baking cookies etc. but I've tried to save some money on food this month, but I bake some when I go home to my parents on the 20th. Also I wanted to give you a little update on how my reading Calling Mrs. Christmas is coming along. I've only read 100 pages, but definitely on purpose, because it's about to turn into a love triangle and I don't want that to happen! I feel as if though I don't read on, it won't happen ;)
Yesterday I watched Blair Fowler's on some organizational tips video on YouTube (Blair's tips), and I got inspired and tried to be organized today, but since it's 20:50 and I've only checked three things off my to do list for the day, I don't think I've done very well. It feels like my brain has turned into oatmeal, probably because I slept very poorly last night. I hope I'm not develop insomnia, 'cause not being able to sleep is happening to me more and more frequently.
Anyway, have a good one! - Elk
The motto of the fair is "Christmas when H.C. Andersen was a child", so there was this lady playing this wind up music box.
The fair took place in the old part of Odense city, there were stalls put up selling various crafted goods.
There were also horse buggies going through the narrow streets.
After walking around in the old part of the city, I walked along the street to the square in front of Town Hall. These decorations were hanging above the streets,
This is the big Christmas tree on the sqaure.
In addition to the Christmas fair in old town, there was a food fair going on in front of Town Hall.
Vendors from all over Europe came to sell cheese, sausages, paella and sweets. There was also selling of some crafts, like slippers and antlers from Finland.
Behind the deparment store is a collection of trees. They were decorated with pretty sparkly lights, which isn't that obvious in this picture.
From the food fair I bought these Dutch Donuts. (I couldn't resist!) But I also bought brusselsprouts, so I think it cancels some of the unhealthiness out ;)

Christmas 2013: Reindeer nails and Christmas novels
Hello guys, today I have another nail-look for you.
I meant to make the reindeer's more festive by giving the middle one a red nose, but I forgot ;)
I also want to talk a little about Christmas novels! Last year I didn't read a special novel at Christmas time, even though I intended to. This year however, I am reading a special Christmas novel! It's called Calling Mrs. Christmas by Carole Matthews. I will do a review when I finish reading it, but I can already say that I really enjoy it so far!
Have a good one, see you later for some more Christmas posts :)

Christmas 2013: A Recap
Hi guys. So last Christmas I had a big assignment in school. It lasted from the 5th of December to about the 20th, it was a big and important assignment that required all the time, focus and energy you had. Therefore I unfortunately didn't have time to make many and exciting Christmas posts which I had otherwise planned on. I did however make some Christmas nails but I simply didn't remember to put the up, I was so swamped. But designs like that don't expire so without further ado, here's a 2012 recap of the designs I never posted.
Gingerbread man meets the french manicure. Sorry about the shine in the middle of the gingerbread man. I only painted him on my thumbs but of course you can paint him all over your nails if you want to.
This reindeer manicure is inspired by Cutepolish's tutorial on YouTube: Cute Rudolph Reindeer Nails. So cuuute!
Now, those were the designs I unfortunately didn't post last year but that doesn't stop you from being inspired from them this year! :D

Christmas 2012: Classic green, gold and red makeup
Hello guys and MERRY CHRISTMAS! Today I bring you a very classic green and gold Christmas look. I am truly sorry that I haven't nearly posted any Christmas posts this year but it's because currently we've got whats called and SRP assignment on 15 - 20 paged to write for school and basically you write in two subject, for me that english and history, and the school gives you two weeks free from school to do this. It counts as an exam and the grade weighs double on your average. It totally sucks that they put the assignment in December, it is truly the lost December that none of us will ever get back. But, to the look!:
Oh my lord, it's so obvious that I hadn't brushed my hair :D
Close-ups of eyes and lips. On the lips I went with a light cherry red and dusted some orange/gold pigment in the middle of my lips - it completely changed the look and made it all look more tied together.
For the rest of my Christmas posts I plan on some Christmas nail designs (already got two in stock for ya), a post where I show you some Christmas pampering products of mine and one where I show you some of my Christmas decor.

Christmas 2012: Accented nails for the holiday
Ho ho ho and merry 1st of December! Did you know that in Denmark we say the date and then the month? So today would be the 1/12 - 12 - COOL BEANS! But hey, I bet you knew that 'cause you're so smart!
Well, as a merry 1st of December present I give to you a nail design that I have been loving through fall and will carry on wearing this Christmas. (In between all my fun other nail-looks). This is very easy, and really you can wear however you want it in whatever you colours you like. ;)
(Sorry about the top right picture, had to snap it with my phone)
Basically, what you do is grab a sheer pearlescent (is that spelled right) nailpolish and paint all the nails except the ring-finger with it for however many coats you like, I like it to be almost opaque and then paint the ring-finger with a delicious glitter. My personal favorites are the two bottom ones, very Christmassy!
Merry happy!

Christmas 2011: Questionnaire
No talking lets get started!
Where in the world are you from?
I live in Denmark, Scandinavia.
I live in Denmark, Scandinavia.
What is the weather like in that country at Christmas time?Sometimes we have snow on Christmas Eve. We’ve had rough winters for the past two years and snow on Christmas Eve. But this year it’s very uncertain whether we’re going to have a “white Christmas” or not.
What does your town do for this holiday?Trees and streets get decorated with lights and ornaments. People hang lights on their trees or bushes in the garden. We have Christmas markets where some people have different craft booths both in- and outdoors. We get together and make Christmas decorations and bake cake. And of course, we all stress about what to get who for Christmas ;)
Do you celebrate Christmas Eve, lunch, dinner or morning? In Denmark (and big parts of Europe if not all) Christmas Eve is the peak of Christmas. All day of the 24th we (in our home) cooks, watch TV, admire the decorated tree, wait in anxiety, have a good meal consisting of white boiled potatoes, small caramelized potatoes, pork roast, red sweetened cabbage and brown sauce. Then we unwrap presents, have ris a la mande for desert and chill out J
Do you attend any special religious ceremonies? Some people go to church, we don’t.
Traditionally, who brings the presents in your country?Santa, good ol’ Santa!
Do you think Christmas has changed since you were a child? No not really. The only thing that has changed is that I’m no longer a child. Christmas in Denmark is mostly about cosiness and especially making sure that the children have a magical time. Plus it’s kind of hard to get into the Christmas mood when you are super busy at work and in school L
Name 5 things you want for Christmas this yearI’d like Avril Lavigne’s Black star and .. Something something Rose perfume ;)
Money for my Stockholm trip.
A new camera.
Make up from ELF.
New shoes.
Money for my Stockholm trip.
A new camera.
Make up from ELF.
New shoes.
What is your favorite Christmas song?Probably Santa Baby sung by Eartha Kitt.
What is your favorite Christmas scent? The scent of newly baked cookies!
Favorite gift recieved as a child?Well.. I wasn’t exactly a child, but it’s some years ago. My parents gave me a Maglite flashlight, I was so upset and disappointed. I didnøt even want it, and couldn’t see what I was going to use it for. But I’ve come to be extremely grateful, I use it all the time and it’s super good!
Hardest person to bu a present for?My dad! I always end up giving him things that just needs to be replaced around the house, mainly in the kitchen. A new kitchen timer, frying pan (this year), towels. I always make sure to get him something either big or many small presents because I feel bad for him just looking at my mom and me unwrapping presents. YOU SHOULD HAVE MANY PRESENTS EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE A GROWN MAN!
Easiest person to buy for?Probably my mom and my friends. Candles, soaps, make-up, perfume – that’s something I give ALL girls if I can’t think of anything else.
Favorite Christmas movie?A Christmas Romance!
When do you start shopping for Christmas? As quickly as possible! I’ll start in September even if I just have two things! 1) And idea of what I want. 2) MONEH!
Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?Mmm traditional cake which I have no idea what to call in English.. And pork roast..

Christmas 2011: Candy cane nails in variations
Hello hello! Here are two ways I have painted my nails in a candy cane design this year :)
I advice that if you choose to do design no. 2 choose another glitter as background colour than I did. Look it's all dark and.. Weird :s
I prefer design no. 1, more simple and cute :D
Keep up the jollyness!
I like to here this is I wanna listen to some wonderful Christmas music :)

Christmas 2011: Penguin nails
Heey guys. Some time ago I found this tutorial on youtube:
And I recreated the look on my nails. Here's the result. I'm sorry to say that I didn't do a very good job in recreating and don't really like the looks of it on my nails. BUT, I still thought I'd share. Maybe you'll do a better job ;)
Keep up the jollyness! Love Elk :)

Christmas 2011: Snowflake nails
Hey guys! Today is the day I start posting some Christmas posts for you guys!
To start off with, here is one of my favorite nail looks for December. (And other months as well if it's frosty outside)
I might not be the best snowflake-drawer, but it's the thought that counts! I also did another version of this with only one snowflake on each nail and some other type of small dots with more glitter, but forgot to take a picture - sorry! I will recreate and snap a pic for ya!
What kind of Christmas posts would you like to see up on the blog?
